Deben Boatyard offers a comprehensive refit, restoration and repair service, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern boatbuilding techniques to care for boats of all ages and construction.
We are particularly experienced in the restoration of classic and traditional boats, undertaking full strip-downs, structural repairs and sympathetic rebuilds that respect the original design and character of each vessel. From clinker dinghies and classic yachts to wooden keelboats, our team has the skills and facilities to carry out complete restorations to a high standard.
Our work also includes the refit and finishing of yachts from base mouldings, along with ongoing maintenance and repair of yachts, keelboats and dinghies, both wooden and GRP. Whether the project is cosmetic, structural or mechanical, every stage is planned carefully and carried out with attention to detail.
As part of our structural repair capability, we carry out keel bolt inspection, replacement and sealing, addressing corrosion, movement or water ingress where required. This work is undertaken with care and precision to ensure keel integrity and long-term safety.
Paint and antifoul removal is carried out using our on-site grit blasting equipment, allowing efficient, controlled preparation prior to a full repainting service above and below the waterline.
Additional services include the installation of holding tanks, bow thrusters and interior rebuilds, as well as joinery and structural work. The yard maintains a large stock of quality plywood’s, softwoods and hardwoods, all of which can be cut to size on site, ensuring efficient progress without compromising material quality.
